ArcheAge Chronicles Greatsword
The Greatsword is the Warrior’s heavy weapon. It stores Resolve, spends it on wide hits, and splits its trait tree into a damage branch and a defensive branch. The official progression post is the source for those branch names.
Resolve, then the swing
Brace is how the weapon banks Resolve. The active names shared by the progression notes and RaidDex are Leaping Strike, Unbridled Might, Final Cleave, Rampage, and Warrior’s Cry. That is a gap-closer, a power hit, a finisher, a sustained swing, and a shout. I do not have official cooldown seconds, so none are printed here.
Two branches, no winner declared
The damage branch highlights Armor Break and turns Sunder into Sweeping Slash: two hits, a wider arc. The defensive branch highlights Pummel Strike, which the post says you can use while blocking, and it grants a shield. Node counts and point prices are not in that post. Calling either branch optimal would be me picking a side the designer did not.
Frostbreaker, the S-rank label on the community tier list, is one person’s Greatsword build at level 40. It is not a rename of the weapon. If you came here from that letter grade, read the branch names first and the letter second.
The Longsword on the same Warrior is a different tree: parries and Crimson Surge, not Resolve. Trait points do not slide between them. December’s Gladius will be a third tree, not a skin for this sword.
