ArcheAge Chronicles versus ArcheAge S

ArcheAge S: The Strait of Freedom is not a mode inside ArcheAge Chronicles. It is another Kakao Games PC project. Chronicles is the game already on Steam. Mixing the names is the whole reason this page exists.

DigitalToday’s report on the first in-game reveal, 29 September 2026, says ArcheAge S targets a global launch in the second quarter of 2027, with Steam used for regions outside Korea. The camera is quarter-view. Skills come from weapon and armor combinations, and the coverage says there is no fixed class. Personal housing and cross-server PvP, including naval fights, are part of that reveal. Those details come from one developer documentary cycle. I would not call S “the true sequel.” That is a slogan, not a filing.

Chronicles, by contrast, is XLGAMES’ action game, already sold, with four fixed classes and a behind-the-character camera. Kakao Games still appears as the publisher on the PlayStation and Xbox pages for Chronicles. Same family of names, different teams of facts.
